OVERNIGHT roadworks are due to take place on the A20 over five weeks.

Transport for London (TfL) began resurfacing Sidcup Road between West Hallowes and Mottingham Lane on Monday.

The works will be carried out in two phases, with the Kent-bound carriageway closed first, from 8.30pm to 5am Monday to Friday, followed by the London-bound carriageway.

Traffic is diverted via Court Road and Eltham Hill.

TfL said there would be advance warning signs on the A20, M25 and M20.

A spokesman added: "Access to side roads for residents will be maintained and marshalled by TfL's contractors.
