A STUDENT has become her school's first entrant to an Oxbridge university.

Blackfen Girl's School pupil Hayley King, 19, from Welling, settled down into Magdelan College, Oxford, to study BA Biological Sciences this month.

The teenager attained straight A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and is the first member of her family to go to a top university.

The student said: "I was a little nervous about moving away but I'm really looking enjoying meeting new people and living in halls.

"The college is a beautiful place."

Blackfen Headteacher, Matthew Brown, said: "We're honoured to have had Hayley as a student at Blackfen. She worked hard right throughout her time with us from Year Seven and we wish her every success.
