A PARK is set to get a £300,000 facelift complete with a new café and toilets.

The council-funded work at Avery Hill Park in Eltham, Bexley Road, Eltham, which will include a new power supply, is due to be completed by Easter next year.

Some of the funding will come from the insurance claim from the arson attack on the previous café on the site, three years ago. The money from the sale of the West Lodge building in Avery Hill will also go towards the works.

Designs for the new café, which are yet to be approved by Greenwich councillors, place it close to the original one and next to the sports changing rooms, the Grade II listed Winter Gardens, the children's play area and the visitor car park.
