More than 100 people flocked to the Pauline Quirke Academy opened its doors for the first time in Chislehurst and Sidcup School on Saturday for a series of taster sessions.

It is one of almost 40 academies across the country opened by the former Birds of a Feather star which are designed to teach children about acting. There were taster sessions on musical theatre, comedy, drama, film and television.

Former Eastenders and Bad Girls actress Vicky Alcock, who lives in Bromley, gave a masterclass in drama.
