Pensioner tricked in Belvedere burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a Belvedere burglary which saw jewellery worth several thousand pounds stolen from an 86-year-old man.

He was tricked by the suspects to let him into his property after informing him that they were completing work at a nearby property and needed to turn his water off.

Whilst the victim went to his kitchen they entered his property and stole his life time collection of jewellery that was worth several thousands of pounds. Amongst the jewellery several pocket watches were stolen each worth several hundreds of pounds.

The suspect seen is described as a white male about 5ft 8 tall with a soft Irish accent.

Police are keen to trace anyone in the area who may have seen or heard something.
