More than 200 chYps supporters descended on Danson Park, Bexleyheath, for the annual Twilight Walk raising vital funds for the children’s hospice at home charity.

They were joined by celebrity supporter and actress Cheryl Fergison on Friday, and hope to beat last year’s total of £14,000.

The actress was presented with a bouquet of flowers by Cameron Edmonds from Gravesend, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, to thanks her for her support.

Cheryl said: “I feel honoured to be a part of such a wonderful event. It’s lovely to see so many people here supporting this amazing charity.”

They are all angels. Through sponsorship raised tonight, chYps will be able to care for more children in their own homes, in a place of safety and comfort.”

Among the crowds was chYps mum Magda Radkowska from Crayford who has raised over £2400. Her four-year-old daughter Laura has just started school after finishing her treatment for leukaemia.

Organiser Emma Middleton said: “This year’s Twilight Walk was absolutely fantastic.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Cheryl Fergison, the walkers, all our volunteers and all the local businesses who supported us and helped to make it a success.”

Money raised will help chYps continue to support children and their families receive vital hospice care in their homes, needing to raise £1.47million every year.
