Officers were called on Saturday to reports of an injured male on Eastern Way

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was found suffering stab wounds by a dual carriage in Thamesmead.

Officers were called at around 5.35pm on Saturday to reports of an injured male on Eastern Way, between Nathan Way and Harrow Manor Way, not far from Birchmere Park.

London Ambulance Service also attended and found a male, believed aged 19, suffering stab wounds, and took him to hospital, with officers awaiting an update on his condition.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident by Greenwich borough officers is underway.

Eastern Way is a busy dual carriage way and officers are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling through the area at the time, that may have seen anything they think is suspicious, to contact police.
