Police catch absconder on routine patrol in Bexleyheath

Two men were arrested at the scene

Officers patrolling through Bexleyheath caught an absconder on Saturday night after pulling over a car they believed to be stolen.

After pulling over the car at 11.30pm, police arrested two men.

William Pierce, of no fixed address was charged on Sunday July 24, with escaping from lawful custody.

The 39-year-old remains at a south London police station.

Levi Wales of Lower Road, Belvedere, was charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

He will appear in court today (Monday).
