The incident took place on Friday in Arbuthnot Lane

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Arbuthnot Lane left a 75-year-old woman dead.

The incident occurred at around 9.15pm on September 30, when a car driven by the woman collided with an empty parked car at the junction with Upton Road.

The driver was reported to have been taken ill at the wheel shortly before the collision. A member of the public stopped at the scene and offered assistance.

The woman was taken to a south London hospital for treatment but died the following day. Her next of kin have been informed.

Formal identification is yet to take place.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the collision, or the incident itself, to get in contact.
