A MAN found dead with head and chest injuries has prompted police to call for people to come forward who may have vital clues as to how he died.

On Sunday, December 13, police were called to an address on Kellaway Road, Blackheath, at 5:50pm after concerns for the occupier.

After getting no reply officers forced entry and discovered the body of 62-year-old Philip Silvester.

Detectives released a new image of Mr Silvester taken from CCTV footage close to the time of his death in the hope that witnesses will come forward. The image shows the victim at shops in Whetstone Road at the junction of Holburne Road.

An Incident Room has been set up by the Homicide and Serious Crime Command at Lewisham.

Police are keen to speak with anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area between Tuesday, December 1 and Sunday, December 13.
