Lily Allen (pictured right) thanked the Metropolitan Police on her blog claiming that they rescued her friend Charlie who had been kidnapped.

Two men were held hostage in a flat in Greenhaven Drive, Thamesmead, earlier after they were snatched on August 2 at a shop in Ladbroke Grove, West London.

But they were rescued by police seven days later 'traumatised but not physically hurt'.

On her blog, Lily wrote: "Thank you to the Met for getting my friend Charlie back, we were all terrified and from what I hear you guys did an amazing job."

Police charged four men at the scene with conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to blackmail and false imprisonment.

Paul Augustas Wigan, 28, of Milford Towers, Thomas Lane, Catford; Kishmore Kumpati, 28, of Greenhaven Drive, Thamesmead; Jason Daniel Goode, 26, of Verdant Lane, Catford and Thijseen Johns Elliot, 27, of Siddons Road, Forest Hill, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on August 11.

Three days later Joseph Hadji, 26, of Antigua Gardens, Forrest Road, Leytonstone, appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on August 15 charged with two offences of kidnap and one offence of robbery.

Another man in his 30s was bailed to return on October 2.
