COUNCIL bosses are closing a primary school despite only one person in the consultation agreeing with it.

Greenwich councillors voted to close Charlotte Turner Primary School in Banbow Lane, Deptford, on Tuesday at a cabinet meeting.

This comes after only one of 156 responses to the consultation agreed to the closure of the school which teaches more than 200 children - half of whom have special needs or a disability.

The school failed its latest OFSTED inspection last November.

A spokesperson for Greenwich council was unavailable at the time of going to press.
