A COUPLE went to the dogs on their wedding day and tied the knot at the track where romance blossomed.

Peter Turner-Dobbin and Gemma Whatrup both 27, of Hartslock Drive, Abbey Wood, celebrated their wedding with 45 guests at Crayford Dogs. The couple, who met nine years ago while working at Argos, Bexleyheath, married in Sidcup Registry office on Saturday, May 23 before a reception and an evening's greyhound racing.

The bride said: "We thought it would be nice to make our day even more special by celebrating back where it all started."

Marketing manager at the track Diana Illingworth said: "This is the first time we've had a wedding reception during a race meeting and it certainly raised an eyebrow or two from the crowds seeing the bridal party walking through the stadium during the evening.
