More than 20 firefighters called

A SCHOOL in Welling had to be evacuated yesterday morning after smoke started coming from an extractor fan.

Some 21 firefighters and officers were called to the school in Danson Lane, Welling, just after 8am.

Around 20 staff had to be evacuated, but it was too early for any pupils to be there and the drama was over by 8.30am.
