Students needed to act as mentors or role models

Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath is looking for former pupils who would like to help students who are at the school now to achieve their best.

The school is working with the charity Future First, which helps schools and colleges set up and maintain networks of alumni who can act as role models, mentors, governors or fundraisers.

The school’s alumni include Baroness Valerie Amos, Team GB weightlifter Zoe Smith and actress Gillian Saker

Alex Shapland-Howes, managing director of Future First, said: “If pupils see that someone who went to the same school and grew up in the same community as them has a fulfilling and satisfying job, it helps them see it’s possible for them too.”
