MORE than 70 scouts aged between six and 80 will come together to perform in a fun-filled production to beat credit crunch blues.

Young and old are due to take part in the Chislehurst District Scouts Gang Show, which is due to take place today, tomorrow and this Saturday.

Scouts and former scouts from Chislehurst, Petts Wood, Mottingham, Poverest, St Mary Cray and St Paul's Cray will provide two hours of entertainment in the show, which uses more than 2,000 pieces of costume.

Chislehurst District Scouts Commissioner Rhys Davies said: "Support and interest in this year's Gang Show has been phenomenal. We have a bottomless jug of enthusiasm and an overflowing bowl of talent in Chislehurst District and we're going to make the most of it. Rehearsals can be gruelling, but the cast's enthusiasm has been growing every day. Everybody's fired up on all cylinders and we're determined that, for a couple of hours at least, the audience can completely forget the credit crunch."

The Gang Show will take place at the Kemnal Technology College, Sevenoaks Way, Sidcup at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £6, a £3 for concessions for over 65s and under-16s is available for the matinee performance.
