Sidcup Crash

TWO men were seriously injured after a car they were travelling in flipped over and landed in front of a house.

Witnesses said a Toyota veered into a wall and hit a tree before landing on its roof in the front garden in Longmead Drive, Sidcup on Tuesday.

Fire crews had to cut two men from the crash. The driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth hospital in Woolwich with severe head injuries. The passenger is in a critical condition in hospital.

Fitz Fonseca, 45, who lives next door to the house, said: “The car crashed into the wall next door. It sounded like a big thud and then scraping on the floor.

“It was by the grace of God that no-one else got hurt.

“I rushed over to them and one of them said he couldn’t breathe. It all happened so quickly.”

Three fire engines were at the scene for two hours.
