A service of induction for Revd Alison Davis took place on May 17.

A service of induction with the theme “choose life” was held to welcome a new Minister.

The service was held for Revd Alison Davis as Minister of Geddes Place, Bexleyheath, and Bexley United Reformed Churches and took place on May 17.

Held at Bexley United Rerform Church, it welcomed the Revd Davis from her previous position as Primary Minister at Fairland United Reform Church, Wymondham, and Jessopp Road United Reform Church, Norwich, to her new pastorate.

Revd Davis was presented by the Revd Raymond Singh, Interim Moderator, and the induction was presided over by the Revd Nicola Furley-Smith, Moderator of Southern Synod.

It was attended by the Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sharon Massey, and MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup James Brokenshire.

Geddes Place Secretary Paul Ayliffe said: “It is an absolute pleasure to welcome Alison to her new pastorate. She joins us at an exciting time for Geddes Place as we open and celebrate our refurbished facilities and consider how, as a town centre church, we can best serve our local community.”

One of Revd Davis’s first tasks will be to oversee the official launch and dedication of the £215,000 refurbishment of Geddes Place Bexleyheath United Reform Church on June 28.

Visitors are welcome to attend the official opening of the new Geddes Place facilities where local groups’ displays, entertainment and snacks will be on offer. For more details visit
