The Erith Riverside Shopping Centre hosted a variety of Halloween entertainment

Halloween frights came a week early on Saturday at the Erith Riverside Shopping Centre, as shoppers were treated to a variety of Halloween entertainment.

A free face painter turned visiting children from shoppers to scarers as thousands descended on the centre for their weekly dose of retail therapy.

The festive fun was part of the shopping centre’s Halloween Gift Fair which ran from 11am to 4pm.

The gift fair also featured a variety of stalls for customers to browse as they prepare for a night of trick or treating later this week.

The stalls offered a wide array of products including an amusements stall and chocolate treats.

Centre manager of Erith Riverside Shopping Centre, Barry Owen, said: “Our Halloween gift fair was a huge success I would like to thank all the stall holders that took part and made the day so successful.”

The shopping centre also a led a safe trick or treating event, inviting children to spot posters in a number of shop windows and in return receive a treat.

Mr Owen added: “Thank you to the retailers that offered children a safe and fun way to trick or treat with their friends and family.”
