Firefighters are holding an open day at Sidcup fire station with attractions for young and old.

There will be displays, a bouncy castle and inflatable sumo wrestling, face painting and a virtual car race with a prize for the best result, along with a tombola with prizes donated by local businesses.

The event runs from 12pm to 4pm at the station in Main Road on Saturday and visitors will have a chance to look round a museum of firefighting artefacts including uniforms and apparatus.

The Firefighting Cadets and Sidcup firefighters will put on a display of a rescue from the tower at 2pm.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Firefighters Charity and firefighters will also donate a cheque to the Marjorie McClure Specialist School in Chislehurst.
