Youngsters playing for a Sidcup football club have been treated to a brand new strip thanks to a £500 donation from a local property developer.

Junior Reds FC’s under-15 side were treated to a new bright red kit by Linden Homes to start the new year in style.

Club secretary Clive Chivers said: “Running a football team for the benefit of the local community is surprisingly expensive and such sponsorship is a welcome boost to all our helpers.

“We are grateful for their interest and support Linden have provided us with.”

The club was set up in 2001 and was the London Football Association Charter Standard Development Club winner for four successive years from 2008 to 2011.

Linden Homes south-east managing director Steve Bangs said: “Junior Reds does an amazing job with so many youngsters, giving them a chance to exercise, learn new skills and work as a team.

“Everyone at the office will be cheering on the Reds this season!”
