Pupils from a Sidcup primary school put together an inspirational parcel that was hand delivered to the Prime Minister by MP James Brokenshire on Friday.
Courier for the day, Mr Brokenshire took the envelope stuffed with letters, drawings and stories as part of the ‘Send My Friend to School’ campaign championed by Birkbeck Primary School, Alma Road.
During a visit to the school last week, the MP heard how the children have spend the past few months thinking of creative ways to help more than 65 million children around the world receive better education.
Mr Brokenshire said: “I was delighted to deliver the children’s work to Downing Street for the attention of the Prime Minister.
“I have asked him to consider the points made by the Birkbeck Primary School pupils.
“The children’s passion and enthusiasm for this campaign comes through clearly and is quite inspiring.”
David Cameron briefly commented on the national campaign during Prime Minister’s Questions last week, when he described it as “brilliant”.
