The campaign to protect the rights of shop workers has been backed by Old Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire.

He visited The Co-operative in Sidcup High Street last Friday as part of Respect for Shopkeepers Week, which ran from Monday 5 to Friday 9 of November.

David Parker, The Co-operative Food’s regional stores director in the south-east, said: “Our stores provide an essential service that many people depend upon, especially in the run up to Christmas, and the anti-social behaviour of a few can have a devastating impact.

“Retail crime is not a victimless crime, far from it, and we are proud to once again be working with Usdaw in support of this important initiative.”
