Children were celebrating their school’s high marks in an inspection.

Days Lane Sidcup in Days Lane, Sidcup, home to 675 pupils, scored ‘good’ in the category of overall effectiveness and improvement, in their Ofsted report.

The inspector’s report which was published last Friday (9) after the two day inspection on November 16 and 17, reads: “Days Lane Primary School is a good school. Children get off to a good start in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is built upon through the school, and pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language, make good progress in line with their capabilities. This is because teaching is good. Excellent care, guidance and support mean that pupils enjoy school, feel extremely safe, get on well together, lead healthy lifestyles, behave well and play an important part in enabling the school to run smoothly. Pupils are gaining a good understanding of their responsibilities to each other, the school and wider community.”

Head Sandra Jones, Headteacher said: “Whilst we are delighted with the report, Days Lane is an aspiring school and there can be no room for complacency.

“It has been a real team effort.”
