He will be given a tour of the manor’s garden centre

Sidcup’s Ruxley Manor will be receiving a royal visit from Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex as part of the royal tour on July 11.

A spokesperson for the manor, said: “We are delighted to announce the visit. The Earl of Wessex is a keen gardener and patron of the London Gardens Society, who work in collaboration with us to judge our annual gardening competition, Ruxley in Bloom. As part of his tour he will take a guided walk around Ruxley Manor Garden Centre and also stop off at some of the previous competition garden winner.

“Ruxley in Bloom is as much about the people as it is about the plants and gardening. It was founded on the prinicple that brightening up our outdoor spaces is good for us all.”

Marketing manager, Sarah-Jane Barker, said: “We are overjoyed to be receiving a visit from Prince Edward, and look forward to introducing him to our team and showing him around the garden centre.”
