A set of signals has failed between New Cross and London Cannon Street

Commuters are set to face delays and diversions for the Monday evening rush hour after signalling problems were reported between New Cross and London Cannon Street.

Trains can now run between the stations, but services from Greenwich to London Cannon Street have stopped.

All trains that run from Dartford and Slade Green to Cannon Street via Woolwich and Greenwich are being diverted after Charlton, calling additionally at Blackheath, Lewisham and New Cross.

The diversion means services along the line will not call at Westcombe Park, Maze Hill, Greenwich or Deptford.

Services leaving the London terminal will be able to run via Greenwich, but passengers are being warned of potential delays.

Network Rail engineers have found the cause of the issue and working to restore signalling, but disruption is expected until 7pm tonight.

Tickets are being accepted on London Underground between terminals, as well as key bus routes between New Cross, Lewisham and London Bridge and the Docklands Light Railway between Lewisham and Greenwich.
