Southeastern warn of ‘major disruption’ of Kent rail services

Problems tonight - and services set for delays tomorrow too

Rail commuters are facing major disruption to their services this evening after a signalling problems between Cannon Street and London Bridge.

Although the line has since re-opened, services using the stations up until 7pm tonight are expected to be delayed, diverted or even cancelled.

To add to concerns, high winds and heavy rain overnight is set to see train on some routes running at reduced speeds.

A Southeastern spokesman said: “High winds are forecast on Friday morning.

“We’ll work closely with Network Rail to minimise the impact, but it’s possible some trains may be delayed and we recommend you check your journey before travelling.”

Gale force winds as high as 50-60mph are expected inland - and up to 70mph in exposed coastal areas.

It is expected to bring down some trees and make driving conditions difficult.
