The money will go toward a new floodlit 3G artificial grass pitch

Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett presented a local youth team for a cheque worth nearly £500,000 recently.

A total of £459,486 was granted to Danson Sports FC from the Premier League and FA Facilities Fund.

The sports minister presented the money to the grassroots club, which has been operating for more than 10 years.

The grant will be spent on a new floodlit 3G artificial grass pitch.

Mr Evennett said: “Facilities like this are very much needed in the area, and when built it will aid football development for both the club and the local community.

“It is vital that money is invested in grassroots clubs where it is most needed, and thanks to funding every year from government in partnership with the Premier League and the FA, the Football Foundation can continue to deliver excellent facilities across the country.”
