A CHARITY worker is running the London Marathon for a cause that's close to her heart.

Jackie Graveney, 46, from Blackheath, is director of communications and marketing at Cancer Research.

"Living in Blackheath, I spent many years watching the race before first taking up the challenge myself in my 40th year," said Ms Graveney, who ran the marathon in 2003.

"It's an incredible day and I can't think of a better way to get fit while raising money for charity.

"Too many of my friends and family have been affected by breast cancer. I know that research will bring us a step closer to beating this disease."

If you would like to sponsor Jackie, visit www.justgiving.com/jackiegraveney to donate what you can.

If you have a place in this year's marathon and would like to join the Cancer Research team, contact its events team on 0207 749 4107 or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org.
