THE son of Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman is following in his father's footsteps in a bid to find hidden dance talent.

James Goodman, of Goodman Dance, has teamed up with friend Michael Charles, from Act-On Drama, to form a new production company.

And with guidance from his father, star of the BBC1 show, Goodman and Charles Productions is looking for a perfect score as they give youngsters the chance to perform in full-scale musicals and productions.

Len Goodman, of Ingress Park, Greenhithe, who most recently took part in the Kentish Times Toy Appeal handover at Darent Valley Hospital, said: "This is one show that will be getting the perfect ten."

The duo hope their merger will give youngsters interested in dance and drama the rare opportunity as cast members to take part in original shows, from the workshop stage through to the final performance.

James Goodman, from Gravesend, said: "What we are offering is not a drama school but a chance to take part in an original show.

"While most performing arts schools work from lessons, often ending in a gala show or end-of-term show, this a different experience, working a cast from beginning to end.

"This also means our students will be worked in all aspects of performing arts. Our cast members will have to sing, act and dance as well as work on performance and stagecraft, much like a professional actor in a West End production."

Mr Charles has had two successful musicals, Lap of the Gods and Panto for all Seasons, staged at the Mick Jagger Centre, in Dartford.

With the duo close friends and working on many projects, they said it made sense to merge.

Mr Charles added: "We are very proud of what we have achieved and now we will be aiming to be bigger and better."

Rehearsals are to take place in Dartford, Bexleyheath, Sidcup and Bromley on different days of the week.
