A CONSULTATION on specialist stroke and trauma centres in the capital was launched following recommendations from the government s health tsar.

A CONSULTATION on specialist stroke and trauma centres in the capital was launched following recommendations from the government's health tsar. Healthcare for London revealed a 14-week consultation last Friday into their introduction in the capital including centres in Greenwich, Bromley and Lewisham.

Health chief Lord Darzi's plans include a hyper-acute stroke unit for The Princess Royal University Hospital, Bromley and local stroke units and mini-stroke centres at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, PRUH in Bromley and University Hospital Lewisham.
