A GIRLS school has staged a cookery competition to promote healthy eating.

Pupils at Blackfen School for Girls, in Sidcup, were given 90 minutes to create a healthy, balanced, two-course meal in a contest to find the school's Chef Superstar.

Best chef title was scooped by year eight student Beth Donovan, who made stuffed chicken with sun dried tomatoes and swede mash, followed by summer treasure dessert. Judging chef Darren Tinkler, from catering company Scolarest, said: "Beth's dish was fantastic. It could have been served in a top restaurant."

Beth was given a £50 voucher to spend on cookery books or utensils.
