A teenage pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Sidcup this morning.

The 17-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a seven-tonne box van lorry in Edgington Way, near Tesco, shortly before 8am.

Police closed the road between the A20 Sidcup bypass and A224 Cray Road, known as Crittal’s Corner, and A211 Maidstone Road.

He was treated at the scene and flown by air ambulance to a south London hospital.

The road reopened at 10.20am, but there is still congestion.
