Teenager’s death thought to be caused by laughing gas

18-year-old died on Saturday night

A teenager who collapsed and died in a street in Abbey Wood on Saturday night is thought to have been inhaling laughing gas.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Wolvercote Road just after 11.15pm to find the 18-year-old was having a heart attack.

He was taken to a south London hospital but died a couple of hours later.

Police are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination, but believe he had been using nitrous oxide as well as drinking alcohol.
