TWO teenagers appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday accused of murdering a 16-year-old schoolboy after a party. Royston Thomas and Mitchell Elliot, both 18, allegedly stabbed Ben Hitchcock in Southend Road, Beckenham on June 23 last year when a fight broke out over entrance to another teenager's party.

Kelsey Park School pupil Mr Hitchcock, who was found collapsed on the ground, was taken to University Hospital Lewisham but pronounced dead from a single stab wound to the stomach in the early hours of the following day.

Thomas of Hazel Grove, Lower Sydenham and Elliot of Howerd Way, Woolwich made a brief appearance in the dock for a preliminary hearing.

Each spoke to confirm their names, but did not enter pleas.

Judge Timothy Pontius QC set a plea and case management hearing for October 28.

A trial date has not been arranged.
