TWO teenagers risked their lives to rescue their stepdad who was sinking in mud by the Thames.

TWO teenagers risked their lives to rescue their stepdad who was sinking in mud by the Thames.

The 38-year-old man was stuck in the mud by the river in Erith on Monday night.

Firefighters were called to West Street at 10.28pm to reports of two teenagers jumping in to rescue the man.

But when fire crews turned up from Bexleyheath and Erith the pair had already rescued the man.

An ambulance took him to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.
