Thames Water says it “very sorry” for any disruption

Motorists heading north of Bexleyheath are facing disruption after a reported pipe leak.

Thames Water has carried out initial investigations of the leak in Long Lane and is hoping to “carry out the repair as quickly and safely as possible with minimal impact to local properties and traffic”.

Temporary traffic lights are currently in place along the road, with the utility company in discussion with Bexley council over fixing the leak.

A spokesperson from Thames Water said: “We are very sorry for any disruption this may cause and ask motorists to bear with us while we carry out this essential work.

“Any repairs to the road surface may take longer as we will need to liaise with the relevant local authority.”
