A Thamesmead care home has been nominated for two regional awards.

Marlborough Court Care Centre, in Copperfield Road, is up for the best care team category in the Great British Care Awards for London, and manager Maggie Candy has been nominated for the Care Marketeer category.

Mrs Candy said: “This is a great boost for clients, relatives and staff – and as ever, it’s all about being nominated as a team.

“It’s the participation that counts, and all our hard work has been enjoyable.

“Staff at Marlborough Court will continue that the centre remains a place of great care and ideas!”

The news marks the end of a good year for the care home. Co-ordinator Nins Deol recently received recognition from Four Seasons Health Care, the company running Marlborough Court, for her ‘recognition of care and kindness.’

Mrs Candy, 52, said: “The home is able to demonstrate excellent relationships with clients and relatives, and participation in projects to make home life more enjoyable and fun.”

It is the 14th year the awards have been running and they will be handed out in a ceremony in central London on November 3.
