Thamesmead Town extended their winning run in the league to nine matches with a 3-2 victory over Potters Bar Town on Saturday.

Chris Edwards scored the winner in the second-half after Mead had trailed twice at Bayliss Avenue.

It kept up the pressure on second-placed Grays Athletic - they are level on 57 points.

The visitors took the lead in the 16th minute as Lewis Tozer turned the ball into his own net following a free-kick.

The lead did not last long when Stuart Zanone made no mistake after being played through by Enoch Adjei.

But Potters Bar retook the lead moments before half-time as Daniel Ailey beat Rob Budd from close range.

Thamesmead were not to be denied and equalised for the second time nine minutes into the second-half thanks to an unstoppable shot from Zanone.

Edwards was set up by Adjei to complete the turnaround and Thamesmead held on to claim all three points.

Mead were due to travel to mid-table Romford yesterday evening (27) as they aimed to make it a perfect 10.
