Thamesmead: Millwall defender hands over £5,000 cheque to hospice raised by community

Millwall defender Tony Craig presented a cheque to Greenwich an Bexley Community Hospice on behalf of residents who raised £5,0000 for the charity.

The cash was collected by staff at the Cutty Sark pub on Joyce Dawson Way, Thamesmead who held a number of raffles selling tickets at a pound a strip.

Greenwich man Tony handed over the cheque on Sunday to Dr David Robson, Chair of the Hospice Trustees.

Community Fundraiser, Julie Lawrie-Raison said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised.

“It just shows what can be achieved when the community comes together. It’s a fantastic achievement.

“We’d like to thank all the patrons of The Cutty Sark Public House for their wonderful support.”
