Residents from the Moorings in Thamesmead had a day of fun, advice and learning about job opportunities at Gallions Housing Assocations’ first neighbourhoods day event.

Gallions’ partners, including Trust Thamesmead, gave advice on managing finances and job searching tips at the event last Tuesday (July 16).

Chris Francis, head of asset aanagement at Gallions said: “This was a brilliant example of the community coming together, teaching each other new skills and knowledge sharing.

“It also allows Gallions and our partners to offer advice and tips like home improvement, which can save residents a lot of money”

Other activities included pot planting, free dog tagging and responsible dog-ownership handy tips. Local children were entertained throughout the day by games and activities put on by Gallions and their partners.

Don Tidey, committee member for Friends of Thamesmead Parks, added: “It was great to meet residents and see some familiar faces. We enjoyed teaching local Thamesmead residents how to garden and enjoyed having the youngsters involved too.”
