A Thamesmead pop-in parlour catering for people aged 50 and over has received a refitted kitchen thanks to Trust Thamesmead.
Age Concern’s site at Evenlode House in Coralline Walk welcomes more than 100 visitors each week and managers felt a new kitchen was necessary to cope with the workload.
John Boice, 81, who has been coming to the centre for 20 years, said: “They cook me meals and I get to talk to my friends and meet new people.
“The pop-in parlour is a lifeline to me and so many others.”
Co-manager Pat Thompson said: “The new kitchen has made life so much easier. It has made more space allowing us to cater for more people.”
