A Thamesmead regeneration project aims to take residents out of fuel poverty by creating more energy efficient homes.

The Parkview Hub project will see a five-storey property along Yarnton Way renovated to incorporate the latest energy saving technologies.

Plans include wrapping prefabricated insulated timber frames around the building, reducing heat loss, and solar panels to power communal areas.

Dan Hill, head of regeneration at Gallions Housing Association. who are running the project, said: “Parkview Hub is going to be a model of sustainable refurbishment.

“It will demonstrate how older properties, nearing the end of their shelf life, could be transformed using modern technology; all for the benefit of residents and the general community”.
