London Mayor Boris Johnson is urging Thamesmead residents to spruce up the Crossway canal and tow path as part of his capital clean-up event.
It aims to encourage Londoners to do their bit and help rejuvenate neglected parts of the city. Events include canal clean-ups, litter picks, habitat restoration, and graffiti removal.
It is also part of the Mayor’s Team London programme which is seeking to build a volunteering legacy following the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by encouraging Londoners to do something great for their city.
It takes place on Wednesday, May 29 and runs from 9am to 2pm. Volunteers should meet outside Manor Close Hall in Manor Close.
