Thamesmead residents spruce up canal

Nearly 400kg of rubbish was pulled from a Thamesmead canal during a community clean up day.

Volunteers filled 15 sacks of waste, old clothes and shoes to spruce up Crossway Canal on Wednesday (May 29).

Helpers included Cllr Sandra Bauer, local resident Ephraim Olumewo and staff from housing association Gallions.
