AN ART and reading morning is to become a regular event after proving a hit with families.

AN ART and reading morning is to become a regular event after proving a hit with families.

To celebrate this, the Year of Reading, Welling School, which specialises in visual arts, invited a professional storyteller to read to children on Saturday morning

After hearing a story about Africa, the pupils designed and printed their own t-shirts, based around the story.

Rachel Stanway, the school's arts development officer, said the event was so successful she plans to hold them every two months.
