Thief steals 12-year-old’s £300 bike outside Welling McDonald’s - can you help?

The incident happened last month

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a young boy’s bike was ripped from his hands outside a McDonald’s.

A 12-year-old boy had cycled to the restaurant on Bellegrove Road, Welling, when the thief approached him, claiming the bike, an orange, black and white Carrera Voular belonged to him.

The suspect grabbed the rear tyre and tried to pull the bike off the boy, frightening the youngster.

Staff and passers-by tried to intervene, but the suspect eventually rode off on the £300 bike.

The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Friday, March 17.

Bexley police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
