Third arrest over Olamide murder

Appeal for witnesses continues

Police have arrested a third man in connection with the murder of Olamide Fasina in Bexley.

The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday evening in Luton is in custody at a south London police station.

A 21-year-old man arrested on Monday in Gillingham is also still in custody, while a 22-year-old man arrested on Friday, 17 October has been bailed.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police were called to Wolvercote Road just after 2pm on Tuesday, October 14, where they found a large group of men congregating near Mr Fasina, who had been stabbed.

The 25-year-old, who was from Erith and was also known as Ben, died at the scene. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor, who is leading the investigation, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen either the build-up to this incident or the aftermath.

“There would have been a significant number of people around at this time of day and I would urge anyone who can help the investigation to contact us.”

Officers know Mr Fasina was with a group of friends and associates that day.
