Accident between Greenwich and Slade Green

Trains between north Kent and London are disrupted this afternoon after an accident between Slade Green and Greenwich.

Passengers can expect cancellations and delays on the line between Gillingham and London Charing Cross for the rest of the day after a freight train was derailed at Charlton.

There are no trains between Lewisham and Charlton – if you need to travel on the line to Dartford, you should get the Docklands Light Railway between Lewisham and Greenwich. You can also use your train ticket on the Tube.

Trains to and from Bexley, north Kent and Medway are severely affected, with some Bromley and Faversham trains also disrupted.

In a separate incident, to do with a problem with equipment, some trains on the line between London and Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet may also be delayed.
