Trio charged with supplying cocaine

A FORMER detective sergeant is due to appear in court today alongside two other men charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine worth €400 million.

A FORMER detective sergeant is due to appear in court today alongside two other men charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine worth €400 million.

Former Metropolitan Police officer Michael Daly, 49, of no fixed abode, appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday in connection with the seizure of 1,554 kilos of cocaine off the coast of Dunlough Bay, Cork, Ireland, in July 2007.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Blackfriars Crown Court today.

He is expected to next appear in court with his co-defendants on November 6.

They are Alan Roger Wells, 55, of Blenheim Road, Sidcup, and John Gary Edney, 57, of East Hill, South Darenth, who are charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.

All three remain in custody.
